Cabarete is a small town located on the North shore or the Dominican Republic. We are 30 km east of Puerto Plata airport and located between a freshwater lagoon on a protected bay with outside waves.
In Cabarete you can find everything in walking distance, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, doctor, bars ,shopping and mostly windsurf is done in the bay.
Walking west of Caberete the kite boarding zone starts and you have around two Km of sand beach till Kitebeach.
Playa Encuentro is around 7 km from cabarete and the waves break on a reef closed to the beach. Best times for wind sports for sure are Feb till September with June July and August being always windy.
For surfing its somehow good all year with some breaks. October till April is a good time to catch the northern hemisphere winter swells and from June till October there can be lots of good waves spinning of the hurricanes that go up north.
Paddle boarding is getting also lot more popular and Cabarete Bay, Kitebeach and Encuentro offer good till great conditions in the morning.
Beside fun sports town, Cabarete has visitors and spectators from all around the world that want to meet the endless summer lifestyle.
Lots of Bars and clubs are located right on the beach and offer all from chill time to sunrise dancing.
